Mainmark UK, a leader in ground engineering and asset preservation solutions, continues to invest in developing new technology to help tackle subsidence issues whatever the challenge.
Mainmark Ground Engineering (UK) Ltd, was the first in the UK to launch a custom JOG Computer-Controlled Grouting mobile unit, and the firm is now developing even further enhancements to help deliver its innovative solution within restricted spaces.
JOG Computer Controlled Grouting is widely used for ground stabilisation and level correction and is proven to successfully remedy subsidence but is still used less frequently across the UK. Employed primarily to re-level and lift structures, JOG Computer-Controlled Grouting can also be used for all settings such as warehouses, industrial business units, large commercial buildings as well as residential homes suffering from settlement.
The JOG Computer-Controlled Grouting uses an advanced grout monitoring system with progress reports, allowing for fine-tuning. This helps achieve a high degree of accuracy and minimises stress on separate sections of a building during the process. Sections that are worked upon are supported and precisely lifted using small, sequenced injections of high-mobility cementitious grout that is very fluid but fast curing.
Following the success of Mainmark UK’s initial mobile JOG unit, the firm is developing an additional new system which should make it even quicker to set up and pack up, making it even more versatile for smaller projects.
Mainmark UK provides non-invasive and cost-effective alternatives to traditional underpinning, and this mobile vehicle is specifically designed to house the JOG Computer-Controlled Grouting solution. Before launching this mobile JOG unit, equipment was typically transported and housed in large shipping containers and placed on the site. Being able to transport and deliver the JOG solution from a self-contained unit makes the process more versatile and easier to mobilise.
JOG Computer-Controlled Grouting technology uses cementitious grouts with controlled set-times, to re-level structures ranging from residential properties to large commercial buildings.JOG can inject over large and complex structures simultaneously and precisely, ensuring accurate results. Over the years, Mainmark has successfully used JOG to re-level a broad range of structures by up to 300 mm, including heritage, multi-storey, and residential buildings.
David Hedley, Infrastructure and Commercial Lead at Mainmark UK, comments: “Delivering ground improvement projects can present a range of additional challenges including lack of space or accessibility. Being able to deliver our JOG technology from a single vehicle significantly minimises the space required to complete a project, enhancing flexibility and efficiency in the process.
“We serve a diverse range of sectors, making this enhancement to our capabilities a significant step in expanding and strengthening our offerings. The existing mobile unit as well as the other innovation, scheduled for launch in the spring reinforces our dedication to providing our solutions as cost-effectively, efficiently and non-disruptively as possible.”
Mainmark UK’s JOG solution delivers grout to a multitude of injection ports set up in circuits via a mainframe computer, injecting via multiple ports a few seconds at a time, to gently raise a structure, enabling precise lifting of very large areas or complex heavy structures. The non-invasive injection ports remain in place for the duration of the work and are quickly and easily removed upon completion.
Mainmark Ground Engineering (UK) Ltd is a subsidiary of the Mainmark group of companies established in 2015. The company, headquartered in Milton Keynes, has over three decades experience and has established itself as a pioneering force in the industry, leading the way in developing and delivering cutting-edge solutions. Mainmark has earned international recognition as an award-winning ground engineering organisation.
Mainmark UK specialise in completing ground improvement projects in poor quality soils, as well as re-levelling of buildings and slabs that have suffered from subsidence. The firm also provides waterproofing and void-filling solutions alongside its permeation grouting systems, which facilitate excavations. Mainmark UK also uses technology, like resin injection, to strengthen foundations and re-level and repair structures. Its specialist teams operate across a variety of sectors, from small residential properties requiring re-levelling, large existing commercial buildings and premises, to big infrastructure projects such as reservoir embankment improvements, mining, and seawalls.
